Empty Saturday
Three “yes, I’m coming” on Thursday. Saturday at 11 there is one empty chair. The no-show lost nothing. You lost the most expensive slot of the week.

The no-show loses nothing. You lose the most expensive slot of the week. Booksolut asks for the deposit at booking: if they pay, the slot is theirs; if not, it frees up.

The problem is not the payment rail
A reminder is courtesy. A deposit is inventory. If the slot is “held” on word alone, the waitlist never gets in.

WhatsApp that says “see you tomorrow” is courtesy. Not commitment. The client who will not show does not open the alert either.
There are people who would come. The slot is “taken” by someone who did not pay. The deposit frees that inventory.
Owner math
The calculator above uses weekly appointments × no-show rate × ticket. Multiplied by 4.3 weeks. This is not a marketing KPI: it is money that never lands when Saturday stays empty.
The deposit does not “recover” 100% of the ticket. It recovers the slot: the person who will not show does not pay, and someone who wants Saturday takes that place.
A WhatsApp alert does not free the calendar. A deposit does.

How you collect
Saturday, color, first consultation, packages. You do not need a deposit on a 30-minute cut for a loyal client.
They see the service, staff member and price. If that slot has a deposit, MercadoPago asks for payment before confirming.
The appointment lands on the calendar. You stop “holding the spot on word alone”. The reminder goes out automatically.
Saturday is available again. You offer it to the waitlist or the next person who writes.
Percentage or fixed amount. Different for cut, color or consultation. Not one rule that annoys everyone.
Enable upfront payment only on Fridays and Saturdays, or only after 6 p.m. The rest of the calendar can stay open.
If they do not pay within X minutes or hours, the booking drops. You stop having “ghost reservations”.
The WhatsApp bot collects in the thread. You do not send a link the client “will open later”.
You do not pay 20% for a client who came from your Instagram. Flat subscription. MercadoPago charges its fee.
Set how late they can cancel and whether the deposit rolls to another visit. You set the policy, not the client.
A real case, not an invented quote
In Search Console, booksolut.com/hex-barberia already gets organic visits. The client books on the shop’s own link, not a directory. Deposit and WhatsApp share the same calendar.

Owners, not patients
No. The Argentina payments page explains which rail you use (MercadoPago, PayPal). This page is the policy: you ask for an upfront payment so Saturday’s slot is not given away if they do not show. The rail is MercadoPago; the problem is no-shows.
In hair and beauty, 20–50% of the service is common, or a fixed amount on the slots that hurt most (Saturday, color, first visit). In a medical office a small upfront fee is often enough. Booksolut lets you set a percentage or amount per service.
The appointment is not confirmed or is released when the deadline passes. That slot goes back to the calendar. A WhatsApp reminder does not do that: it notifies you and the slot stays blocked.
Yes. The bot can ask for the deposit in the same chat. The booking link also collects when they reserve. The channel is the WhatsApp bot; here is the collection rule.
There is no Booksolut fee per client. MercadoPago charges its usual fee. Booksolut is a flat subscription. That is different from Fresha (commission on new clients).
Yes. Ask for a deposit on Saturdays, long services or new clients. The rest can book without upfront payment. The idea is not to charge everyone for everything: it is to protect expensive slots.
Yes. MercadoPago charges in Argentine pesos. PayPal is for those who bill in dollars. Payment rails are detailed on the Argentina payments page.
Owners who move from “I’ll wait for you” to a mandatory deposit usually see serious no-shows (the ones who never warn) fall sharply: the range we use in product is 60–90% fewer no-shows when upfront payment is required to confirm. It is not magic: people who will not show do not pay.
